Rant and Rave

Ok, so there we are, up by 3-4 goals. The other team really wasn't all that bad, but they were not connecting on passes, not playing team defense, just not coordinating. They were 5 guys and a goalie, and it was getting them beat.

They were also slashing and high sticking all over, and the refs were trying not to call more than they had too. Play after play, they took themselves out of the game, and then they bitched.

Finally, third period roles around, and we're up by 4 or 5 now, and one of their guys drags our guy down with a high stick. The ref has to call it, and he does. The guy goes ballistic. I didn't catch everything he said, but I gather that he thought we were somehow cheating (hey, we put the puck in the net, what does he want us to do?), and, of course, he had some words about the officiating. The refs, who'd listened to it all game, called him on it. He wouldn't shut up, don't know what he said, but the ref put his hands to his hips, then pointed at the gate to the dressing room.

Now they were losing by 4 or 5, and had become 4 guys and a goalie not playing as a team.
